We are preparing advent/Christmas bags for inmates at Green Rock Correctional Center in Chatham, VA. It's likely we won't be able to gather as a large group to assemble the bags in December, so we've decided to start now and work on it throughout the fall.
You can sign up for a date and time to come by and help prepare bags on the left side and click Volunteer!
If you would like to help now, we are in need of these supplies for the bags:
Paper bags (7x4x13in)
Mints (round, dissolvable type, color: red and white)
Lined notebook paper
Ramen noodle packs
Hot chocolate packs
Prayer cards/holy cards
Please drop off your donations at the church. We appreciate your generosity!
Join us in praying the Holy Rosary
Throughout the month of October, we will pray the rosary 20 minutes before Mass on Saturdays and Sundays. We invite you to come join your fellow parishioners in prayer. St. John Paul II described the Rosary as a prayer which “in the sobriety of its elements” concentrates “all the
depth of the Gospel message in its entirety
”, and through which “the faithful receive abundant grace, as though from the very hands of the Mother of the Redeemer”.
: Support the Knights of Columbus Coat Drive! All coats must be new with the price tag still attached. Please drop off your coats in the
large red box
in the church commons. The box will remain in the commons until
Monday, October 12th
. Any monetary donations can be given to Elaine Taylor in the parish office. Thank you for your generosity!
Please continue to pray for the spiritual and physical health of these brothers and sisters in Christ.
