Bishop Knestout has dispensed all the faithful in the Diocese of Richmond from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass until further notice. However, if you choose to attend a public Mass during the weekday or weekend, it is absolutely imperative that you adhere to the various guidelines and requirements. Please take the time to watch our video on how to safely return to Mass and participate in the liturgy. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the parish office.

Giving Tuesday
Advanced giving for #iGiveCatholic has begun! We've already raised $300 thanks to some early bird giving! #iGiveCatholic and #GivingTuesday will be on December 1st this year- last year, our school and church community helped us so much in donations that we were able to purchase our new activity bus. Teaching Opportunity
Sacred Heart Catholic School (Danville, VA) seeks a motivated and enthusiastic Middle School Math teacher to join our team in January 2021. The ideal candidate will hold a current Virginia Teacher License with an endorsement in Algebra. The candidate should have experience in differentiating instruction, be comfortable with technology, and familiar with the Google Classroom (or similar) Platform. Help SHCS, Help You!
Would you like to direct your Virginia State Taxes to Sacred Heart Catholic School? You can through the Virginia Education Improvement Scholarships Tax Credits program. Individuals or businesses making contributions of $500 or more can receive a Virginia TAX CREDIT equal to 65% of the donation. The monies are used for tuition assistance for students from families whose household income is less than 300% of the poverty level (for example, $72,900 for a family of 4), or 400% if the child is disabled. In addition, donors who itemize will also receive deductions for charitable contributions on state and federal taxes. Participants should consult their tax advisors to determine their specific tax savings. Individuals and businesses can receive substantial tax benefits by contributing through the EISTC program. Advent Reflection and Service Project
Sacred Heart Catholic Church has prepared a one week only special event for families to get together this Advent season. With the Advent Reflection and Service Project, you will be able to spend time with your family and others as you work on service projects that help others in the community and also learn more about the Advent season. The sessions will be safely spaced out per COVID guidelines, will be only 2 hours long, and are offered in both English and Spanish! If you would like to sign up, please click on the "Sign Up" button on the left to select your date and time. Spaces are limited!
Christmas Poinsettias
We will be decorating the church with poinsettias for Christmas. If you would like to purchase a poinsettia in honor or in memory of someone, please submit a check payable to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in the amount of $16.00. Place the check along with your printed intention in an envelope and bring it by the parish office. The deadline for ordering is Thursday, December 17th. Thank you for always answering the call to help beautify our altar and sanctuary at Christmas, We could not do it without you!
Our Lady of Guadalupe and Christmas Masses
Due to the high traffic that usually occurs with the Our Lady of Guadalupe Mass, the Christmas Eve Mass, and the Christmas Day Mass, we will require parishioners to preregister in order to attend these masses. We will send out an email for these masses in approximately one week, so please be sure to get an accurate count of how many people will be attending the masses with you. If you have any questions, please contact us at the parish office.
